Joe and Molly planning our hikes for the day as we explore Nevada’s Valley of Fire State Park. They settled on the Pinnacles Loop before lunch and the Arches just before sunset.
Valley of Fire
We are way behind in posting. We will try to get caught up over the next few days. Josh and Paige kept us pretty busy while they were camping with us. Josh taught us a few climbing techniques on one of our hikes thru a slot canyon. We later learned that a 20 foot climbing rope was recommended for the hike. We did not have a rope. I sort view Josh’s just in time training as the pass / fail type. We are here so I guess we passed. Anyway, more in that later.
Today we are at the Valley of Fire in Nevada. Plan to stay here today and go hiking.

Climbed Up to Capilla Peak
We took the van up to Capilla Peak which is in the mountains southwest of Albuquerque. Watched the sunrise the next morning from 9200 feet. Priceless!
